Thanks, I was focused on all the wrong things. I thought that maybe because of the hair and the color of the shirt that the person was female, and thought the comic was suggesting that kids need to play with the right gendered toys in order to not be gay. Totally missed the shadows in panel 2 and 3 at first.
Wasn't clear to me at first, so for the slow ones in the back like me... the 2nd and 3rd panel show when he was sexually assaulted as a child.
