Compromise and tolerance is why we are where we are today.

6
Donaldsweiner 6 points ago +6 / -0

THIS. I also feel like a lot of it was many on the right were asleep at the wheel. They had no idea how bad things really got until someone like Trump came around and exposed it

BloodyWolf 5 points ago +5 / -0

It doesn't matter whether we are awake or not. Our politicians knew we didn't support the destruction of marriage. But we aren't as effective in pressuring them as large interests are. The problem is ultimately with the political and business elites of "our side".

One other thing. Trump hugged a rainbow flag. You do realize he is essentially a 90s liberal, right?

Tolerance is the Lube that helps the Dildo of Dysfunction slide unnoticeabley into the Ass of Civilized Society.

There's gotta be a way to say that in such a manner as to not short circuit a normie, not that I don't like it just the way it is. The mental image is just too good.

The GA voting law EXPANDED early voting. Why? We already have plenty of early voting. GOP is always trying to legislate in a way that will bring Liberals on board, hence we always inch closer to the left’s politics desires. When Democrats legislate, they completely ignore the right and force feed the country socialism.

1
BloodyWolf 1 point ago +1 / -0

Exactly. The top is corrupt. They want to lead to a power change. Maybe so they don't have to pretend anymore.

Olds77 0 points ago +6 / -6

Because Kemp's a fucking snake and wanted them to still be able to cheat and win.

5
GOPkilledTHEMSELVES 5 points ago +5 / -0

You’re not wrong about Kemp, but he wasn’t the one that drafted the legislation.

Blaming it on Kemp gives the legislature a pass on bending over to the left.

Our legislators need to stop trying to appease the left by including “sweeteners” to our legislation. We constantly slide to the left because we are always conceding ground, bit by bit.

Today's mainstream right openly supports homosexuals, transgenders, and mass migration. This is all against the very idea of conservatism.

One of the best things I've learned in life is to say no and mean it. No explanation. Just no.

BoughtByBloomberg2 9 points ago +10 / -1

That is in part because the right of the past had bad ideas. Censorship? Naughty words list? Comic book authority? International proxy wars to stop Communism?

Agreeing with a leftist from the 1960's on the notion of freedom of speech doesn't mean any acquiescence happened. Same way that modern day leftists agree with race theory from the 1840's doesn't mean they aren't still leftists.

These concepts have simply crystallized into a coherent ideology.

Pro-liberty. Small government. Patriotism. Family oriented. These are pillars you can build a new movement on without the poison of the past.

You need to DEFINE your own movement instead of mirroring yourself as the opposition. The FAKE opposition btw looking at the GOP.

3
BloodyWolf 3 points ago +3 / -0

The only reason the Left wanted freedom of speech was so that they could subvert us.

They abandoned all of that when it was no longer convenient.

1
BoughtByBloomberg2 1 point ago +1 / -0

They didn't though. The left and the right were both unprincipled on this point. If we take right and left as opposite political spectrums.

When I say the left I mean the 90's leftists who all believe still in the freedom of speech even if most have TDS. I do not mean the ladder kickers like Borat who turned around and decided that offensive jokes are illegal.

1
BloodyWolf 1 point ago +1 / -0

Borat?! Never watched his stuff, but that's surprising!

TD_Covfefe_Crusader 4 points ago +4 / -0

This is the absolute truth. Compromise and acquiescence is what has brought us to this state of misery and it will be the death of us all if it doesn't stop. I see this behavior in local politics as well and witness firsthand the damage done all because some cuckservative is afraid to say "No" to the leftist mob.

As Dan Bon Gino has pointed out, ‘Some Republicans are actually Democrats but zero Democrats are actually Republicans.’

Yes. Need to hold firm, and push back as well. They call you a racist? Turn it back on them

11
Archmagnus 11 points ago +11 / -0

Fuck that.

Do not 'hold firm'

Do not wait for them to make an argument you may try to turn around.

Attack like there's no tomorrow.

Because there really isn't a tomorrow if you don't fight back.

1
Chuj 1 point ago +1 / -0

So you attack first? How do you select a target? Please give an example

5
Archmagnus 5 points ago +5 / -0

Don't hire lefties. Try to get them fired. Every little misstep they make, you speak loudly about and try to cancel them for it.

Things like that.

2
BloodyWolf 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yes. Purge them. We need to stop subversion.

3
OperationWetback 3 points ago +5 / -2

You can see the sorry state of the right even right here on this very page you are viewing.

"No Racism No racism, including slurs, non-factual content, and general unfounded bigotry."

Where do you think this rule comes from? It is direct boomer brain washing. It is OK to be both White and Racist. It is. Anyone who tells you otherwise is either brain washed or is trying to use your Anti-Racism against you.

This site can be a little muddled. But they are at least allowing threads and comments like that to exist. So, maybe that will help to normalize useful and valuable discussion on the subject?

Allow fully automatic weapons.

Impeach SCOTUS justices that make up shitty laws (the new ones will eventually learn the lesson).

Beat qualified immunity back to a good faith belief, AND an objective reasonableness test that an action was in line with both policy and law.

End absolute immunity for malicious acts.

End sovereign immunity. My government was by and for the people, God didn't approve any of it, so it shouldn't have common law protection based on the idea that the infallible author of everything said it was good.

Teach the history of the second amendment in school. The militia was all fighting age males (roughly 12-14, until infirmity) of sound moral character. Well regulated is about being able to respond to things quickly. In other words, keep your guns handy, and we'll all be safer for it.

Allow cannons. When the civil war kicked off, Congress begged and pleaded to borrow a navy from the citizens, complete with heavy guns and armor. There was no epidemic of cannon based violence in inner cities at the time.

Back the interstate commerce clause way the fuck up. Make it taxes on goods, and bans on imports into the country, only.

Add a new amendment to require federal money offered to states to have only requirements relevant to how that money is to be spent. In other words, the US Congress should not be threatening the highway funding of any state that lowers the drinking age below 21.

1
BloodyWolf 1 point ago +1 / -0

... I actually seriously wish I could see some cannon-based riots in the cities.

On a side note, do you thinking different demographics from back then might have meant that the population was more responsible with weapons like cannons? Because I can't imagine BLM and Antifa giving out rocket-launchers to diveristy hires would work out well.

That isn't anti-2A, by the way. It is an honest question.

2
I_lurk_u_long_time 2 points ago +2 / -0

The extremely high cost of a cannon at the time was likely the biggest factor. None of the normal inflation measures work over that kind of time frame, but no one today runs around with transferable machine guns committing crimes for largely the same reason.

If you can afford to put $15,000 into a gun, you're almost certainly planning long term, and making semi reasonable decisions with your life.

It's also worth considering that more people (as a portion of the population) died of homicide at the time, so the founding fathers may have simply thought the deaths from cannon wielding maniacs was worth it in order to have freedom.

1
BloodyWolf 1 point ago +1 / -0

Thank you for the response. This was actually really interesting. I kind of wonder if our Founders kept pet cannon!

Hewasawizard 3 points ago +3 / -0

There’s one issue where I disagree, and that’s NatSec/Foreign Policy. The GOP created the NatSec Deep State, after all, thanks to human-scumbag Allen Dulles and his brother John Foster. HW Bush. Nixon. GWB. We were the PATRIOT Act party. Now, we’re taking a position against them that would have been called “far left” 20 years ago, but it’s the right position for anyone who calls themselves pro-liberty.

2
Donker 2 points ago +2 / -0

I'm pretty happy with the current state of moderates and right wingers.

In 2021 the right-wing position is

"leave me the fuck alone and I'll leave you the fuck alone."

Exactly the way God and the founders intended.

I legitimately don't see America giving in to the "transgender kids" crowd... the progressives have progressed into some overtly crazy shit, that even most left-wingers are against, even if they're not allowed to say it. The critical race people are a tiny, tiny fraction of the population, and despite what the MSM would lead you to believe even the majority of black people want nothing to do with that craziness.

Most of Americans are like us, which is why most of the people you see in media aren't. They really want us to believe we're in the minority.

  • I only support abortion until 28 weeks

  • I don't think taxes should go above 1/3 your income

  • I think only illegal aliens who commit crimes should be deported

  • I believe that two married men should have the same tax breaks as a heterosexual couple

That's right. I'm a conservative in 2021.
