I didn’t know this until I read a book recently, an excellent account, called “Days of Rage” - but the socialist black revolutionaries of the 60’s and 70’s were hardcore second amendment supporters. They would open carry shotguns and rifles as a show of force against police and the state. It’s what led Reagan to pass gun control measures as governor of California, because of several tense standoffs and confrontations between CA police and groups like the Black Panthers, who would open-carry everywhere they went.
As it turns out, there’s also a large portion of the socialist movement (the free-healthcare wing, not the global totalitarian WEF version) that’s pretty hardcore 2A. Even Marx believed in arming the workers, and there’s an organization called the “Socialist Rifle Association” that I wasn’t aware of. I found that pretty interesting.
