Airlines have no choice in the matter. They’re just praying that the most popular former Vice President ever doesn’t release some bullshit grounding them or scaring the remaining customers off.
Sadly, I'm pretty sure the airlines lobbied for this so they would have the "right" to do business. Just like Wal-Mart lobbied for masks and lockdowns on the ground. We're all paying for it.
