Rgr. I have a semi auto mp5, I haven't gotten it out to the range yet, but it's got weird internals. The thing works on this roller delayed blowback, which is just weird to us Americans who are so used to either striaght blowback or gas operations, but Euros seem to really like delayed recoil operation.
And that I hear tell is the MP5's claim to fame. Being mega low recoil compared to other operating systems. I understand it doesn't scale up that well, that gas is way smoother at 5.56mm and above, but I don't speak from experience. Still, under that line they tell me roller delayed is really sweet.
The really screwy thing on the MP5 though is the reload. Seems the Germans think you have a week and a half to do reloads.
