First convert $1000 into Bangladeshi currency, then figure out what the median income is for all Bangladeshis. It’s around $1200/yr equivalent. What?? You mean to tell me these women are earning a near-median income working in a “sweatshop?” It’s because they’re not sweatshops at all, they’re actually jobs that provide middle-class incomes to women in third-world countries.
All the Cato Institute is saying is “look beyond the fake headlines because there’s a bigger story here.”
And we also need to take into account that, generally, women take jobs that pay less over the course of a year because there's a higher percentage of women that don't WORK full time all year; Maternity Leave, Part Time Work while taking care of their children, being supplemental income for a family that already has a full time working Father, etc. So basically we've got a situation where, when you adjust for the falsity of the "Gender Pay Gap," these women actually have the same Active Earning Rate AS that 1200 a year median income, they're only falling short because of the average we're taking, which is skewed by the nature of their employment tendencies.
It's like when someone was telling me that New York City's "Hart Island" potter's field usually buries 7000 people a month, but now they were burying 7000 people in a single day thanks to Covid. Being a former New Yorker, I made some phone calls and did some research. Want to know what I learned?

There was NO CHANGE IN UNIDENTIFIED DEATHS IN NEW YORK CITY DUE TO COVID. Same here; yep, these ladies earn 1000 dollars in a year, but due to Actual Research, we see that the claim that they're in a sweatshop is utter bullshit.
Well, I have a different take on slave labor; Perhaps we should take all these Kool-Aid hair-colored white bitches and all these Joggers that have caused more than 3 billion dollars in damages and are about to cause more and put them back in chains to pay all those lost businesses and hurt/murdered individuals respirations for the damages they caused?
