I knew we always had political differences but it was never a major issue until some degenerate doctor told her family that covid was the reason her 90 year old grandfather with the worst case of Alzheimer's/dementia you could imagine passed away.
It actually hurts my soul, not that we broke up, but that I realized I spent 5 years of my life with a partner who was as lizard-brained as the rest of the 99% of the world's population.
Take solace with my comment; last year was the end of a 10 year relationship I had with a liberal (even socialist) significant other. I don't know if you've ever had a long term relationship like this break, but you're definitely going to go through hell and back with logical arguments, bitterness, and what you thought your partner was.
But you are so, so so so so so going to be better in time. You're going to eventually meet someone who can think for herself, discuss, and debate -- but also respect your thoughts and you hers.
Allow yourself to go through the grief. Be kind to yourself. Heal. Then go out and get that ass. Keep your head up.
