what proof do you have they wouldn't be WORSE without such measures?

short answer: you don't have this proof, therefore science says you don't get to have an opinion about it

Wrong, Florida has been open with much lower numbers. And wrong again, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Where is the “science” that masks and lockdowns work?

I’m glad you have the science where masks and lockdowns work.

He keeps linking this extremely limited study that didn’t account for jackshit to say that masks work.

Durrr if you cough with a mask on some stuff spreads into the air differently.

Pretty sure he’s trolling.

This is about as good of a case study as we are going to get.

What you are doing is ignoring the evidence at hand and selectively picking the difference to fit your bias. With things like a pandemic, we don’t get perfect case studies and so you have to rely on the evidence at hand.

Weighing the options of…

  • taking away people’s liberties.
  • Forcing millions out of work.
  • Shutting down the economy.
  • Hurting children for god knows how long.
  • Increasing suicide, depression, domestic abuse, child abuse
  • etc etc etc.

It better be damn well worth it and you better damn well know that things would without a doubt be drastically worse if you didn’t take these drastic courses of action!

What we have instead is evidence of countries and states that didn’t take these sorts of drastic measures and fared about the same or often better than countries and states that did.

Give me liberty or give me death.

taking away people’s liberties. Forcing millions out of work. Shutting down the economy. Hurting children for god knows how long. Increasing suicide, depression, domestic abuse, child abuse

not a single bit of that caused by masks

The proof is other states that are much more open are doing much better.

other states

if i take a normal 5 year old and a 78 year old congenital heart disease black male with diabetes and expose them to covid, will i get the same outcome for these people?

that's just 4 disparate factors

you have decided to compare two states with THOUSANDS of disparate factors and choose two and claim that they are the determinate factors deciding the course of covid epidemiology

THAT IS NOT SCIENCE

that's bullshit

Well Florida, who has one of the highest age averages and tons of retired people who are scientifically in the highest risk of dying of Covid. Has been very open and very relaxed when it comes mask mandates. Has numbers much lower than Michigan. Their average deaths per million is in the middle of the bell curve despite having a much larger percentage of their population in the “at risk” category.

they also have a different climate

a different racial make up

people with a different lifestyle

and are on a different part of the epidemiology curve

they probably don't ban HCQ either and prescribe it liberally
