I figure if our Senators and House members start seeing pictures of hundreds of checks for donations given to MTG's re-election campaign, but getting few themselves while MTG's election coffers explode with money, well, we might make a point to a few congresscritters.

No, because we will not be getting rid of politicians any time soon. All we can do is try to lead them by the wallet.
