Unions are the ultimate grift....they take money from their rank and file and they take payoffs from the body they are supposed to protect their members from. Anyone hitched to a union is a sucker and deserves to have their money taken away from them.
Except members of unions almost always make more money than peers left to work for whatever "the market will bear". Average American man's earning power peaked in the 1970s.
A bunch of people can and should be able to decide to go on strike...
What's absolutely insane is that employers are legally prohibited from firing workers who don't show up to work during a strike.
The power a union has is the value of its members. If the union demands more than the workers are worth, the business should be free to decline, and fire the workers. It is unconscionable to behave otherwise.
It sucks too. Cause they come from a noble ideal of making sure that people aren't working in unsafe or terrible conditions and such. But today, they're they're often the very disease they claim to protect you from.
Their careers will be fine. I think a lot of them have thought it over and realized they’ve got a free ride to the club. Just follow orders, and they get to be the muscle for the elite. Which is safer and more profitable for them and families than being under the boot. And they can work their way up easier.
I agree that police unions need to better defend themselves or their careers will go to shit.

I never liked unions. They Smell bad and make your eyes water when cutting them.
