Barter system is too inefficient, they'll go to gold and silver. The US has experienced hyperinflation (bond notes, government IOUs) 3 times before and every time it went back to good and silver.
Did you read what I wrote? I said in the absence of a functioning government and dead currency like an end of the world scenario. I’m not talking about market crashes and bonds. Context is key.
