I can understand leaving the stuff about the pregnant woman out of it... but wouldn't the previous arrest the year before, where he swallowed all his drugs and overdosed to not get caught with them, be relevant to this case by showing a pattern in his actions?
Like I said, there are some exceptions but they are narrow. Patterns of behavior can be relevant when there is some close nexus with the current charges.
However, this isn’t a trial of George Floyd. Chauvin is on trial. I should have mentioned this previously. So in this case it would largely depend on whether the prosecution ‘opened the door’ to evidence of the victim’s past history.
So it’s like the flip side of what I said before. For instance, in a rape trial, a woman having a history of being a whore is not necessarily relevant to whether she was raped.
