You think the government is out to protect you? You think that an unarmed citizenry is "good"?

Throughout history, government has sought to take away the rights of citizens to bear arms. This right, set forth in the 2nd amendment to the constitution is not for "self-protection" or hunting, but for citizens to be able to stop governments from abusing the citizens.

In just the history of America there are multiple examples: 1775 British marching to Lexington & Concord why? to seize gunpowder and disarm the Minutemen.

December 29, 1890 the U.S. Army’s 7th Cavalry surrounded a band of Ghost Dancers under Big Foot, a Lakota Sioux chief, near Wounded Knee Creek and demanded they surrender their weapons. As that was happening, a fight broke out between an Indian and a U.S. soldier and a shot was fired, although it’s unclear from which side. A brutal massacre followed, in which it’s estimated 150 Indians were killed (some historians put this number at twice as high), nearly half of them women and children. The cavalry lost 25 men.

Gun control is not about Crime control. it's about citizen control. Once the government controls the citizens, the citizens are slaves to the government and no longer safe from tyranny.
