Manchin's opponent was the current AG. He's a good guy that had a bad campaign forced on him by the national GOP who are a bunch of traitorous scum.

West Virginia has secure elections. Manchin keeps getting elected because the state is small enough for many of them to have met him personally, and he was an extremely popular governor.
