My idiot commie brother in law: “man plywood prices have gone off the charts. No idea why.”
Me: “I have a couple of ideas why”
My idiot commie brother in law: “like what?”
Me: “blm and antifa rioting has supply down and demand up. That’s how capitalism works. Businesses in just about every major city have had to board up for almost 12 months”
My idiot commie brother in law: “no, no...well that’s not how...racist”
Also lumber got more expensive due to covid shutdowns, and everyone trying to DIY projects around the house during lockdown. It's the old one-two-three punch

Lot of people fleeing big cities too. That might be leading to a construction boom. Though I'd haven't seen any numbers to support it.
