Similar thing actually happened to a good friend of mine. I dropped him and his wife off after a night at the bar in college. Car was in his lawn. Called the cops and they were trying to get him for DUI and car theft. They eventually found the right guy strung out of his mind, naked, and passed out a few blocks down the street....

This forum was NOT unanimously praising the police. How quickly people forget. There was TONS of criticism for kneeling LEOs and Antifa being let off the hook left and right.
I’d say it was close to 75/25 when we were still on Reddit, but as soon as we moved here people definitely starting speaking the truth more IMHO. I’d say it’s flipped by now to 25/75, and rightfully so.

My support for police is rather mild, based on my lifetime of bad experiences with them. Considering how aggressive they have been toward me in the past when I have always made every effort to be polite and peaceful in all matters (with a squeaky-clean record) it has always pushed my "outrage" button whenever they coddle actual violent criminals, or avoid confronting them in favor of more compliant/profitable prey.
But when they started kneeling for the joggers, and standing down for the riots... screw 'em. Police have never done a damn thing for me when I needed them, and have gone out of their way to hassle me when I was not doing anything to warrant the deployment of their power-trip. (I could and should write a book on it, in the interest of helping others when they encounter that bullshit.)
Now that they (and the court system) have shown themselves to be more lenient toward joggers on the basis of their race, I have little use for either entity as a law-abiding citizen. I have to protect my own belongings and person as it is: I live in a rural area where if if if if I were stupid enough to call them, it would take them an hour+ to find me (and try to arrest me for whatever incident I called them for, or possibly shoot me because their quotas are "off.")

I didn't get a ticket once. I ran a red light and jumped the curb while the cop was stopping me. He just looked at my information and let me go. I don't even look threatening or anything. That was a close call, though.

I'm totally for sending bad cops to jail and for police training reforms. But attacking police as a whole over the actions of literally a handful is just as bad as the leftist cancel culture. Living in the Netherlands it's too crowded for sheriffs and local police, I know the local city guard, they care but are mostly powerless. The government police doesn't care. They have fined people, closed down businesses, shut down protests, kneeled before BLM, stood down during BLM riots and destruction.

Seriously. I’m actually great friends with my local law enforcement, even those at the county level, prosecutors etc. we get along great because I’m a law abiding citizen. I’m sure I’d feel much different in bigger cities but there’s no mask gestapo or travel bullshit here. Cops are just doing normal cop stuff, stopping speeders etc.

Lots of truckers that I’ve been dealing with over the last year are straight up Africans. Not sure which countries they are from, at least one was wearing a cross necklace, but he took off down the road without shutting the door on the trailer.
That's an OSHA fine if I've ever seen one, but I respect him for coming here and working. I used to work for a fastener supplier, a lot of the truckers come from the Congo and Cameroon. Some really nice people, can't understand shit from them but they got big smiles and enjoy working.

I've never had a good experience with cops ever. Cops are my enemies and Jesus said to love your enemies.
First cop to let me off with a warning or is genuinely nice to me gets their next meal on me.
I have. I've had many "good" experiences with cops. The thing you have to remember is when you're in a traffic stop, the cop is highly likely to approach it from the perspective that every traffic stop could potentially be a deadly encounter, which is very true.
So if they come off as intimidating, that's part of the training and they do it on purpose because keeping the person they stopped on their heels is safer than being all Mr Nice Guy and making you as comfortable as possible.
Problem is that sometimes you get someone who freaks out in that situation, even if the cop is being cool the stress of being pulled over sends a certain kind of person into a panic and they do stupid shit. Those are the people that the cop is controlling for with the way they approach you in a traffic stop. Maybe they're a drug addict and their head is screwed on wrong? Maybe they're a fugitive, or have warrants? Maybe they're just plain crazy?
I think basing your opinion of cops on traffic stops is asinine, given the situation.
A more accurate gauge of whether a cop is a piece of shit or not is how they treat people in situations like not wearing a chin diaper or praying in church or going to the gym. Is the cop being a jackbooted thug and following orders?

Two weeks ago, I was racially profiled. One unmarked car and another marked rolled up on me while I was trying out my new bike. They shouted, "That's the bike we're looking for," and quickly realized they were wrong, played it off, and drove away. That was by far the nicest encounter I've ever had with police.
I've interacted with the police about 7 times in my life and all have been negative. I've never committed a crime but have been handcuffed in the back of a police car twice and I still bear those handcuff scars.
Even as much as I do not like the police, I'd much rather have cops over warlords.

Local guy who plays basketball with our group is very based, also the kind that uses his head, doesn't have a big ego and doesn't escalate situations unless there's no other choice.
