Yeah, and she definitely did simply make a mistake. So, there is no murder one charge, and this is why you don't fucking fight with the police. Shit happens. This kid's dead now, and he DESERVES it, accidents notwithstanding.
No, he didn't deserve it. Ass kicking, yes. Death, no. Human life has value. Even dumbasses. Until the threat reaches critical mass, you have not forfeited your right to live.
Could this have been entirely avoided by not resisting arrest? YES! For fucks sake people have got to stop being retarded and thinking it will end well by fighting the police. But resisting arrest is not a death sentence. Nor should it ever be...unless you try to kill the police. That's a different topic. Giving the most untrustworthy government more and expansive grounds to kill citizens is the worst idea ever. Even if those citizens might burden society.
In the general, I can agree, but on this specific scenario, I think he deserved it. Did you see the other reporting on this guy's record? These are the asshats who make guns a "scarrry" thing in society, instead of sobering tools and implements of justice and peacekeeping. He was putting himself in a position where he could do harm if he had a gun concealed in the vehicle. We've seen this before, at least twice that I know of - someone having a gun or knife hidden in the vehicle and people died. When someone has legit gun charges and resists arrest, it means they are indeed deadly. So, this wasn't some drunk resisting arrest for open carry and J-walking. As far as I'm concerned, violent or would-be violent criminals need to be in fear. So, the accidental discharge of the firearm instead of the tazer, was in my opinion, fateful AND deserved.
