Do I think he should have been shot? No. Was the officer incompetent? Yes. Bottom line however is that he would still be alive today if he had just stood still. That's as much caring as I can muster for a piece of shit thug.
I dont wish anyone to get shot, but when you dive back into your vehicle, you made the decision to put that option on the table. Some people seem to think cops are issued crystal balls and already should know if you got a gun in there somewhere. Cops have always been tense. Its ten times worse in the current climate. If joe every man exercises a shred of empathy to put themselves in the cops shoes, most of this would go away over night. They spend every day dealing with the lowest rungs of society. The types who hide needles and razor blades on their persons. The kind who lie about having a weapon in the car. It's not a good cop bad cop thing. It's a "don't put yourself in that situation" thing cause you dont know if it's a bad cop until after they shoot you. Keep your mouth shut do what your told let the lawyer sort it out.
I ran my mouth alot when I was young and got tuned up a few times by the cops for it. Times I spent in jail for no reason other than pissing off cops and being a tough guy where I would have walked had I just shut up. I learned later in life that being honest and doing what Im told during a traffic stop keeps me out of jail and hurts alot less.
This cop fucked up, it would have happened eventually. My only surprise is that she went for the taser and didn't just shoot on purpose. Personally I feel she probably had the excuse to. There is another factor I don't know if it was mentioned in this case yet, but if they ran the plates we dont know if his record came back with some past weapons or assault history. That puts them more on edge as well

Maybe we should take one of those tools away from cops so they don't mistake them for each other. The criminals have guns and a taser isn't good enough to beat a gun, so take the tasers away.
Any time an officer feels the need to fight a criminal, they should just go straight to lethal force. Then people like the fool in the video will fear and respect police like they should.
