There’s a shortage for a ton for goods too. Been shopping for a mountain bike. Turns out, everything biking related is in short supply. More people getting outside due to lockdowns and Asia isn’t producing as much. Bikes are up 10-15% since last year, and sell out as soon as stores get them.
I wish it was just 10 grand......its been and extra 40 grand on one of my projects.......My Hatred for Democrats grows every time I pay bills.....They are destroying my Business!!!!!
Inflation is a part of it too. We've printed a whole lot of dollars recently. They've mostly managed to hide it with cheap Chinese electronics and corn/soy in our food. But the evidence is out there.
Everything lumber is up. Tried to price building a deck for my sloped backyard and the contractor recommended leveling it out and pouring concrete because it would be cheaper.
I went to Menards to get a few sheets of 1/4" paneling but they were all chewed up so I left. They were $28/sheet. After not finding anything else I liked, I decided to buy the stuff from Menards. Went back the very next day and the same stack of busted up paneling, without a single sheet removed, was now $39/sheet. Fuck these assholes!

We get a lot of lumber from Canada, and due to their stupid lockdown bullshit, and Covid regulations, it has slowed the lumber supply line to a crawl.
