Tazers are designed to not feel like a pistol. Their grip is bigger, its hollow, they are wide and have a HUGE yellow front. They also weigh 8 ounces, a fully loaded glock weighs around 1.5 lbs. The weight difference alone is extreme for a reason, so you do not confuse your tazer with your firearm.
Individuals who have passed tazer certification are trained to place the tazer on their belt on the opposite side of their firearm so they must make a clear decision on either a firearm or a tazer.
For a 25 year veteran her own body cam shows she was very poorly trained. She is clearly holding her firearm with her finger on the trigger jabbing it around like a flashlight before she shot the guy.
Get put into life and death situations every day for 25 years, see how often you make a mistake. No amount of training is going to prevent all mistakes. And there is no chance at that mistake if you don't resist arrest.
I also think it is stupid that just owning a gun can get you a warrant for your arrest. That is as dumb as getting thrown in jail for having marijuana.
Bad policy all around caused this, as well as the culture.
There are so many angles of blame here, the black culture that makes these kids think it's ok to just defy every cop they come in contact with. The stupid gun laws that made this guy a criminal for possession of a firearm before he was 'of age'. The shit police policy, procedures and training, that put a domino effect in motion, from the cop that cant properly hand cuff a suspect, I mean I can write an essay on just what was shown on the video.
He did not force the suspects legs open past the shoulders. People don't understand how important this is in subduing someone. If their legs are spread beyond their shoulders they lose most of their capable leverage, this is why cops do that move, this cop did not do that very simple, arrest 101. He did not have him interlace his fingers and then grab the fingers, and instead of leaning him back, he allowed him to lean on his car, giving him more leverage. I could go on and on.
Poor police work all around. Now the city will burn.
This makes no sense.

and TAZERS are BRIGHT FUCKING YELLOW adrenaline is one hell of a drug (tunnel vision is experienced)
Tunnel vision. Everything goes out the window when that kicks in. Definitely should've been trained better though.

I think 25 years is sufficient time to expect practiced experience. Mistakes are made but holy fuck what a mistake to end it on...
