Hey now, I remember a Dollar Tree Christmas -- I was 8 mos. preggers so not working; my husband had just gotten his DD214 not long before; money was tight with 3 kids already and another on the way (E5 didn't pay as well back then, not with that many kids).
Yeah, that was a tough time (really was hard on my husband; I remember him busting his ass doing all kinds of odd jobs while he was looking for employment), but we got through it -- and my kids got Christmas...thanks to the Dollar Tree! (ps. they used to have a nice selection of little books on history, the presidents, and things like that for kids...$1, can't beat that).
All my favorite gifts as a kid were the tiny gifts in the stocking - glow sticks, chocolates, markers - that kind of stuff. Now that I think of it, my mom probably got them all at the dollar store. Good stuff.
I just buy gifts there for people I hate.

No hate on Dollar Tree Christmas.
Nothing feels more shitty than being a dad broke near Christmas with kids wishing for Santa.
I’ll never forget it.

You can find some great stuff at the Dollar Tree.
