Employment helps a lot which is why COVID coming around when black unemployment was near all time lows was such a tragedy.
The wider culture's acceptance of race-baiting has been hugely destructive in the last twenty years or so which has been an obstacle for progress in changing negative attributes of black culture. So reversing course on that in American culture would get things going in the right direction again in black culture. Many younger members here don't remember that race-relations were way way better twenty or so years ago even as graded by black people themselves. It was no surprise that the current prophets of divisiveness were fewer and further between.
In the end, there needs to be black people on the ground in black areas fighting the good fight, but that will need to be sourced from largely employed people who accept and preach personal responsibility. When people are causing their own problems, projecting the cause of every trouble onto some mythical societal racism undermines improvement. It is kind of a religion of helplessness because everyone who could make a difference is pushed to believe that they can't and so don't even try. It is sometimes hard to admit that you cause your own problems as it is somewhat embarrassing, but at the same time it defacto gives you the power to fix your problems.

This was the color of crime where I live, BEFORE blacks looted and burned every city... their crime culture earned our contempt.
