So it was actually Remington that declared bankruptcy. One of the biggest firearms and ammo manufacturers basically shut down. The Freedom Group split up, with Ruger aquiring Marlin.
Vista Outdoors acquired the Remington Ammo brand, and has just kicked off a MASSIVE increase in production. They are running their factories 24/7 and should have a big impact on the industry. (fingers crossed)
