HIPPA was supposed to protect us from having to share our medical information. Why the @#$%# are we now creating Apps that track our health and share that information with others???

The only winning move is not to play.

This is absolutely fucking right. It’s why I absolutely refuse to get tested or wear a mask or get the vaxx, no matter what. I told my husband that even if I’m in the hospital LITERALLY DYING, I still do not consent to get tested for Covid. I’m not playing this game, I won’t fucking do it.

worldowedexplanation 22 points ago +22 / -0

I was at urgent care and the ER a few months ago and the doctors didn’t even seem to believe in Covid (I was there for something else anyway), and they didn’t test me and told me they didn’t think there was any point. It was pretty amusing. Also I was the only person in the ER.

HIPPA is for healthcare providers.

All this vaccine passport BS is coming from private businesses requiring you to submit the information yourself or you’ll agree to allow them to access your health record. It won’t violate HIPPA unless the information was release by a healthcare provider without your consent.

12
phandaal 12 points ago +12 / -0

The better play seems to be asking them if they'll accept liability for requiring you to take a vaccine, since you're required to waive liability for the manufacturers before taking the shot.

7
CrouchingKamala 7 points ago +7 / -0

This misunderstanding is the medical industry's fault as they use HIPPA in that context, that people are using here, to push narratives with their clients. For instance, Kaiser Permanente quotes Hippa Law to keep A client from having a family member in an office visit with the client while additionally weighing, measuring, bloodletting, etc if front of other clients. Nothing says privacy like having stand in the hall with fully dressed men while mostly nekkid, wearing a Johnny waiting for an xray. Typical HIPPAcracy.

6
worldowedexplanation 6 points ago +6 / -0

So we all need to say “you can call my doctor for my medical records” when they ask if we’re vaccinated. “That’s private information.”

Friendly tip: make sure you say HIPAA and not HIPPA.

The law is the: Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act

Almost everyone gets this wrong and your liberal bastard friends will use that simple mistake to discredit your entire argument.

Don't give them the ammo.

1

Everyone says HIPPA

But there isn't two P's, it's actually two A's

So, correct acronym is HIPAA

12
Onemoretime11 12 points ago +12 / -0

HIPAA, like all laws now, are null and void.

8
peterstrzoked 8 points ago +8 / -0

A law is only as good as the consequences involved in breaking it.

If the consequence is jail and no one is jailed, there is no law.

If the consequence is jail and those who break it don’t go to jail and get million dollar book deals, it’s a clown world law.

If the consequence is fines but no one is fined, there is no law.

If the consequence is fines, but the government pays you a 100% forgivable loan instead, it’s a clown world law.

Hope that clears thing’s up.

2

So the needs of whites in america outweight the needs of others?

1
nutup_orshutup 1 point ago +1 / -0

And that story ended with Kirk telling Spock that the needs of the one outweigh the needs of the many.

7
Ctv1125 7 points ago +8 / -1

HIPPA stops medical professionals from sharing information. Businesses can suggest that we share our information in order to use their services. I had to prove my more standard vaccinations in order to enroll in college, or at least that is how I remember it. I could easily be recalling false memories.

2
worldowedexplanation 2 points ago +3 / -1

You can also easily fake those documents . Just saying.

6
RedCat 6 points ago +6 / -0

It’s a coup. Old laws don’t matter if there’s no one to enforce it.

5
keeptherepublic100 5 points ago +5 / -0

This. So are we going to have to prove we took the jab to 'fly' and not have to quarantine? what if you do not have that information on you are they going to take your word for it? Will they call your Dr?

3

It’s for healthcare providers. It is private businesses who will require this vaccine passport bs which will be self reported or you’ll sign a consent allow them to release your health record.

2
Mudbone 2 points ago +2 / -0

Dude, you have it all wrong. HIPPA was created to shield doctors, hospitals and insurance providers from liability, when they share your information. Just like the “Patriot Act”, it actually means the opposite of its name.

Remember this the next time Congress passes a law, and you will be more than halfway to understanding its actual intent.

Opposite of what it’s called

2
Throwingway22 2 points ago +2 / -0

Words on paper have never protected you.

2
CooTper 2 points ago +2 / -0

First, it’s HIPAA, not HIPPA. Second, the HIPAA Privacy Rule only applies to a person or entity acting in the capacity as a Health Care Provider that electronically transmit health information in connection with a standard transaction under the HIPAA Transactions and Code Sets Rule (“Covered Health Care Provider”); a Health Plan; or Health Care Clearinghouse (collectively, “Covered Entity”); or as a Business Associate to a Cover Health Care Provider; Health Plan or Health Care Clearinghouse.

Even if you are dealing with a Covered Entity or Business Associate, the HIPAA Privacy Rule does NOT prohibit any use or disclosure of Protected Health Information. It only provides what you need to do before doing that. For example, if the use or disclosure is for Treatment, Payment or Health Care Operations, you can do so without the Individual’s Consent or HIPAA Authorization. (States may require Consents). In cases like these Apple Watch or, say, Aetna Attain Apps, they have you check a box saying you agreed to the use or disclosure by giving your HIPAA Authorization.

1
brother_red 1 point ago +1 / -0

This.

Goddamn I'm getting sick of having to repeat it.

HIPAA doesn't have SHIT to do with other people asking for your health information.

1
booblitchutz 1 point ago +1 / -0

I dare someone, anyone to demand my health info as a condition of anything.

1
jhewish 1 point ago +1 / -0

Because as long as retards exist to voluntarily give up this information even though its illegal to collect it, applications will exist to illegally collect it.
