Once a society transitions to agriculture, the toughness of a society softens. Especially the women. Americans typically don't make little girls hunt from the age of 5. If drafted, less than 5% of women in a settled society have the temperament to charge into battle, and less than 5% have the strength to keep up. Soooooo 1 in 400 women could theoretically provide the Joan de Arc effect. The rest are a liability
