At the very least put them on desk duties instead of field work.
Desk jobs like evidence, etc, are often done by cops who are too old to wrestle joggers but too young to retire. Filling them up with 20-something women puts the 50-something guys out of a job.
50-something guys should lay off the Crispy Kreme and maintain the fitness necessary for a physically demanding job.

In the future I see it going this way. The women fill up all the admin and light duty jobs. Dudes all go to the field. Some females maybe do a short stint on a glory job early on when they're still at thier prime, just enough to fill out the resume. But for the most part admin and light duty. A pregnancy here and a pregnancy there will seal the deal and keep them doing all the hands off stuff.
The dudes will get used up in the field by age 30 and be forced into career changes. Because light duty or admin won't be an option.
The women will be the only ones with longevity, face time with higher ups and political leadership thus promotability into high level positions.
Women will be running the shit show with no more old dad boomers around to hold them by the hand or clean up thier messes.
As an example:
The first female thunderbird pilot got picked up shortly after meeting minimum flying hour requirements. Pretty much because she was the first to apply. She did one tour as a thunderbird (her peak) then immediately dropped flying to work at the white house as an advisor on women's issues.
Don't know what she's up to now, don't really care.
