When more Hondas and Toyotas are made in the US....

23
tellittothedead1 [S] 23 points ago +23 / -0

And made much much better.

12
Wolverine 12 points ago +12 / -0

And guess which state Toyota moved it's North American HQ to.

8
tellittothedead1 [S] 8 points ago +8 / -0

Which one?

11
Wolverine 11 points ago +11 / -0

TEXAS

3
Southboundanddown 3 points ago +4 / -1

Guess which country they moved Tacoma production to.

5
Wolverine 5 points ago +5 / -0

Correct they moved the low-margin pickup truck production line to Mexico to make room for the high-margin luxury SUV in Texas without losing any American jobs.

2
Thegman 2 points ago +2 / -0

Mexico!

3
Olds77 3 points ago +7 / -4

You're right. Domestic content has been plummeting among auto makers, the US ones in particular. Still none of them make me feel good about buying a new car and with Ford opening their proposed Ohio plant in Mexico instead I doubt they'll ever make an American enough car that I would buy.

https://www.nhtsa.gov/part-583-american-automobile-labeling-act-reports

We should see Mazda start to have more American content as they opened a dual plant with Toyota in Alabama that's coming online.

If the Japanese made a 1 ton dually diesel Id seriously consider it

4
TheFozz 4 points ago +4 / -0

Most of them make great diesel engines, they just don't bring them here because of heavy taxes etc. Our government basically dissuades them from doing so

2
FreeJack2020 2 points ago +2 / -0

There's literally a 20 year import restrictions on new diesels in this country. Doesn't matter if it's an american company that makes the engines abroad either. That and the emissions BS (DPF, def, etc) have really hobbled diesels in this country.

FlyinHeadlock 20 points ago +20 / -0

Data shows people by and large want voter integrity. A serious problem for companies that exploit people in other countries. Can't have slave labor making demands on pay, healthcare, work conditions and electing politicians that are looking out for them.

TAIWANNUMBERONE 11 points ago +11 / -0

Don't forget Jeep, so Chrysler is probably on that list too as if Dodge v Ford from 100 years ago didn't clue anyone in.

14
RPOZ28 14 points ago +14 / -0

I love,(please insert sarcasm here), the Jeep, "freedom" commercials. Especially after they showed up in force at the Ziden rally.

5
TAIWANNUMBERONE 5 points ago +5 / -0

Any time someone throws around words like that on TV you need to be extremely weary.

3
covfefe_in_ur_cup 3 points ago +3 / -0

The Booze Springsteen commercial was top LOL.

5
KekistaniMemeLord 5 points ago +5 / -0

Well fuck there goes every prospective vehicle I was looking at lmao

3
TAIWANNUMBERONE 3 points ago +3 / -0

Get a used FJ Cruiser before they start getting even more stupidly expensive than they already are.

1
WhiskeyDreams 1 point ago +1 / -0

Bruh. They are beyond expensive now, they will get very cheap when the new bronco comes out though.

5
tellittothedead1 [S] 5 points ago +5 / -0

They’re so bad, I’ve long forgotten them. And forei owned

1
TheFozz 1 point ago +2 / -1

Fuck Jeep, their quality has been shit since Chrysler bought them in the 90's, now they've totally cucked to China.

10
fuckfortysix 10 points ago +10 / -0

Actual fascism is here, they projected it for 4 years. Thanks Obama.

9
BarrysCellM8 9 points ago +9 / -0

"Boycott them!"

As the government bails them out over and over with your 'boycotted' tax money...

4
tellittothedead1 [S] 4 points ago +4 / -0

Now you're talking my language. As I've said, Americans have been boycotting them for 40 years.

3
BarrysCellM8 3 points ago +3 / -0

If we really wanted to boycott these industries that are just a 'private' arm of government, we would all be talking about legitimate tax boycotts. But instead, you get ass blasted for saying that and 'muh secession' posts get stickied...

RedPillosopher1776 0 points ago +1 / -1

The people on this site only want to take the least risky, least likely to succeed actions.

2
HuggableBear 2 points ago +2 / -0

It's not that, it's that we know that in reality, we're alone.

No one here is going to stand up for us when the IRS comes to arrest us for tax evasion. So we don't do it because we know it will accomplish less than nothing.

This isn't 1776. There's no organized resistance. There are no local meetings of rebels in your neighbor's basement. The guy that might stand up for you is 3000 miles away, not three doors down.

There is no peaceful resolution to any of this and it's going to get a lot worse before it gets so bad that the shooting starts, which is the only real solution at this point.

My favorite are the mUH UNION workErS at these places, vote Democrat, have their jobs shipped overseas, have their leaders supper illegal aliens to take their jobs, cry woe is me. 😂

The entire UAW at Ford should be on strike over this. Voter ID protects American jobs.

Instead they are too busy voting for the same leaders shipping their jobs to China.

6
tellittothedead1 [S] 6 points ago +6 / -0

All to get an extra 5 minute break, and 2 dollars more an hour, because they never seem to get enough.

4
c89631147e 4 points ago +4 / -0

Can’t get $2.00 more an hour when your job is shipped overseas. 🤷🏼‍♂️

And/or your union dues go up $2 and hour. 😂

2
tellittothedead1 [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

Like they say, it Sucks to Sucks hahaa. You’re right. Especially as the big wigs skim it right from the top

Who the hell buys Ford still?!

6
tellittothedead1 [S] 6 points ago +6 / -0

That’s what I’m wondering! Their trucks, yes. But they’re still pieces of shit. They’ve had 40 recalls on the new bronco. Unbelievable

1
BourneTactical 1 point ago +2 / -1

Laughs in 45 years best selling truck & #1 sports car in the world. Everything you own will cry out woke shit.

3
AmericanBerserker225 3 points ago +3 / -0

Thanks to local and federal governments buying them.

2
tellittothedead1 [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

The F-150 and the 'vette?

-3
Olds77 -3 points ago +1 / -4

It won't be me anytime soon if they don't up their American content. They had one model with 55 percent "domestic content" (US and Canadian), the Explorer, and it falls off a good bit from there.

6
TheFozz 6 points ago +6 / -0

I used to hate Japanese manufacturers, now they're all I buy. Not only are the Japanese anti-woke, their quality is leaps and bounds ahead of US manufacturers. My Tacoma (55% US Sourced) is more American than the F150 (50% US sourced)

1
tellittothedead1 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

I was in the same boat my friend. The American cars are fucking terrible. Unfortunately, the Tundra isn't as good as a Ford for work (maybe it is), but its so much better. They don't break down and hold their value much much better.

1
TheFozz 1 point ago +1 / -0

The Tundra is a really stout half ton. But unfortunately for larger trailers you need a full ton. I wish Toyota would give us a Tundra HD.

1
tellittothedead1 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

I agree

1
WhiskeyDreams 1 point ago +1 / -0

Too bad they look like shit and haven’t updated their internal stuff in over a decade. Toyota is a joke right now.

This is coming from a guy who owned two Tacoma’s a 4Runner, and an fj cruiser

1
TheFozz 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yeah Toyota gets knocked for being bland and outdated, but they go for durability and reliability, they find something that works and leave it for years and years.

Ford and GM are updating every few years but their interiors fall apart after a few years.

5
BlmAnimalFarmFodder 5 points ago +5 / -0

Ford would be sickened to know how his namesake company would end up cow tailing to the international elites that he was against while he was alive.

1
AmericanBoner 1 point ago +1 / -0

Well he supplied the nazis so... theres that...

4
GameStonks 4 points ago +4 / -0

We bought a 2021 Chevy Colorado Z71 last year. Great truck, to be honest. The only real alternative was the Tacoma that would have cost more, towed less, and had a harsher ride.

Boycotts are great but sometimes you still need to buy from them and that's okay.

Besides, it's not like any of the other car makers are any less woke.

3
Southboundanddown 3 points ago +3 / -0

I have a 2020 F150, it's also a great truck, but by siding against voter integrity Ford and Chevrolet have in essence just told you they want you dead or enslaved. No more Ford for me, can't see myself supporting someone who wants me dead.

1
trump1aj 1 point ago +1 / -0

Boycotts typically only hurt the workers. the C-level will just move to a different company. When a plant closes those employees are left to dry.

1
GameStonks 1 point ago +1 / -0

Normally that would bother me... but fuck the unions, they get what they voted for

1
tellittothedead1 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

Trucks are about the only thing they have going for them. Since I'm not in construction and don't haul anything heavy, I plan on buying a Toyota. They just last much longer and don't break. The Colorado is a nice truck, but the Toyota Tacoma and Tundra hold their value better and are more reliable. I won't argue with anyone who hauls shit, does construction, etc. The Fords are the best for that, but they are pieces of shit.

4
RPOZ28 4 points ago +4 / -0

My Dad was a parts manger at a local Chevy dealership in the '60's-'80's. I was his default parts truck driver, when his real driver was sick, or quit. It was a blast. Sad to see these companies jumping on the "woke" boat. Screw them.

3
Joujigun 3 points ago +3 / -0

Ford so woke they pay their workers in their Thai Factory $300 per month

3
TearofLys 3 points ago +3 / -0

They want slave labor. Ford just moved a factory to Mexico because democrats won't slap any tariffs on them.

1
tellittothedead1 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

That's right

Jimbo28a 3 points ago +3 / -0

I never have, nor ever will, buy a car made by unionized Americans...unless unions start to give a shit about this country.

3
tellittothedead1 [S] 3 points ago +3 / -0

Fair enough. I stopped buying them when I was sick and tired of my cars falling apart and stupid shit going wrong. Once I bought my first Honda I realized just how shitty American cars had become.

1
deleted 1 point ago +1 / -0
3
MAGAsJustBegun 3 points ago +3 / -0

Buy Japanese.

As others said, the Japanese auto makers produce more in USA than the US owned auto makers!

2
tellittothedead1 [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

Always do

2
MAGAsJustBegun 2 points ago +2 / -0

They make such quality vehicles, right?

Between Toyota and Honda, I've never owned one, but everyone I know who does has put 200k+ miles easily.

Very great runners. Good on gas. I will say, base model Honda's suck comfort wise, but cheap to maintain, good mileage, and low maintannace.

1
tellittothedead1 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

My 2008 Civic Si had 226k and still on the original clutch. Never had anything break that doesn’t normally break. They’re the best. You pay for them but make up for it in lack of seevice and aggravation. Also, they hold their value more

3
HanginChad 3 points ago +3 / -0

Well I guess I'm not getting that Ford Bronco. I really wanted it after the first model year. But now I guess I'll just keep my Toyota until it reaches 500k or more miles.

1
tellittothedead1 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

I was interested, but it's a piece of garbage. It's basically a Ford Escape and they can't even get that right. I mean come on

2
WhiskeyDreams 2 points ago +2 / -0

You’re thinking of the bronco sport, which is butt ugly. The real bronco is a beast.

1
tellittothedead1 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

Is that one on based on a different platform?

1
WhiskeyDreams 1 point ago +1 / -0

http://better-magazine.com/ford-bronco-vs-bronco-sport-whats-the-difference/

The sport looks like a pile of shit and the bronco is a competitor to the jeep.

1
tellittothedead1 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

Got ok. That’s what I thought

2
Southboundanddown 2 points ago +2 / -0

Well, I guess I don't need an F150 after all. Tundra it is.

2
DudeNoOne 2 points ago +2 / -0

Why would i care what two mexican auto companies think

2
CharlieMike 2 points ago +2 / -0

When Ford declined the Barry Bailout, I committed to only buy Ford from then on. I now officially retract that commitment and will let Ford know it...

2
TaxDollarsHardAtWork 2 points ago +2 / -0

I've had this problem. Most of the things people are calling to boycott are things I stopped buying/doing/watching for years now.

2
lordvon 2 points ago +3 / -1

for tesla haters... how bout now?

2
lordvon 2 points ago +2 / -0

though i do wonder if extremist employees are putting out these ridiculous statements, and not real leadership...

2
BourneTactical 2 points ago +2 / -0

How many government bail outs to get where they are now?

2
lordvon 2 points ago +2 / -0

bailouts? 0. loans? 1 that i remember that they paid off quickly and made the 'taxpayer' a profit. More like private equity 'bailouts' (AKA investments...).

1
tellittothedead1 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

Nahhh. Not interested

1
lordvon 1 point ago +1 / -0

have you ever driven one? you can always go for test drive for free at your local tesla shop.

1
tellittothedead1 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

I hear they’re excellent. But I’m just not interested. Not my thing

1
lordvon 1 point ago +1 / -0

fair enough. for me, they are just so much more practical (no time/money wasted with service or dealerships, never have to go to gas station).

1
tellittothedead1 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

Fair enough. I'm glad they work for you, and you enjoy it.

1
lordvon 1 point ago +1 / -0

oh yeah, and they drive themselves perfectly on highway and getting better in cities. its the future man, please consider it!

1
tellittothedead1 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

No way.

2
Hardrocker556 2 points ago +2 / -0

I only buy Nissan now...until they get cucked...maybe they are already but don't know. Before too long ill make a junk bicycle using no new parts to get around just to send a message

2
offsubject 2 points ago +2 / -0

This only pertains to new Nissan. Old Nissan cars are amazing and their old trucks even better

imo Nissan's JATCO CVT transmissions are hot garbage and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

I've always found Nissan to be great advertisers but like 5 years behind Honda and Toyota. Out of the Japanese car companies, I would put them the worst(still better than German or other global car companies). What makes you a Nissan fan?

1
covfefe_in_ur_cup 1 point ago +1 / -0

Scotty Kilmer has the same opinion of jatco transmissions.

1

Toyota Trucks are more American than Ford and GM.

1
tellittothedead1 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

exactly

1
ethan123 1 point ago +1 / -0

Was considering buying a Tesla but too expensive for me. Was considering a Chevy Bolt as an intermediate "step-up" thing (get used to the EV thing with a Bolt, then when Musk comes out with his $25K Tesla, get that) but I don't know now

2
tellittothedead1 [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

That's cool. I'm not really into EVs, but to each his own. They say the Teslas are excellent and I appreciate their innovation, but I'm not interested.

1
ethan123 1 point ago +1 / -0

I kind of like the idea of EVs because you can charge at home (with electricity that might come from solar panels that you own) instead of having to rely on someone else's gas station.

And it's cheaper, especially if you charge at home, have a 9-5 commute that isn't insanely long, and have cheap electricity. Less things that can fail too, in my opinion.
