You think they will speak up when it's harder if they wouldn't speak up when it was easier?

I think people all have different breaking points and tolerance levels. I also think they'll follow when enough of us are leading the way. I've studied crowd behavior and how momentum shifts quickly in situations like thus.

We'll see. Many lack the ethical clarity of the people here.

No, I think people, like bacteria or fungi, follow the path of least resistance. When the social, legal, financial repercussions get worse for them personally, people speak up less, not more. And even though you can explain the long-term damage and how everyone will suffer if they stay the course, unless the effects are felt personally, they will not change.

The breaking point for human beings has been established all throughout history in my opinion, and that's when they're literally broken and dead. None of these movements reversed course until many people died. Would be great to be proved wrong here, but I doubt I will be.

I understand your argument, and I also hope it is proven wrong.

My hope is based on the fact that the Constitution, as of this morning, is still intact. That may just give us an advantage other nations haven't had.

I'm proceeding as if a peaceful path is still open to us until that is no longer the case, and that requires continuing to build our side.

When is this happening with the stupid fucking masks?

Depending on where you live, it's happening in a lot of places.

I’m sure you are right. LA County appears to be a lost cause. Even in the suburbs.

Take a look at the meme again to find out. But if you're looking for advice about speaking up. I'd say, always, all the time, to everyone. That's entirely your decision though.
