In 1877 Lord Acton gave a speech about this. He makes the case that our current concept of freedom, separate from the powers that be, originates in Christianity

Amen! One thing i’d like to share in relation to your post: Michael Voris of Church Militant: The Depth of God’s Love.
It’s a long talk and definitely worth listening to. Some points that he makes that i’ll attempt to reiterate is that Christ is truth/logos, and He is hated because of that. Also, the closer we are to Christ, the more we will be hated because the way of evil and the world is lies and disorder.
If that is what you believe, you are the enemy.
