I was over there. They really sucked at it. For every person they successfully blew up we found about 20 IED’s and my best guess is that they blew up themselves 5 times as often as they did us.
The friendly fire was definitely a problem of theirs, but they made those IEDs for a hundred bucks a pop. The Army spent hundreds of thousands disarming or destroying them.
You'll never win a war using IEDs, but they sure do make occupying territory expensive.
All those vets will have to thank Hadji for teaching them how to set up IEDs and ambush military convoys if war breaks out.
