Putting in fake upvotes has no excuse and would lead to a lot of problems if exposed. They excuse the removal of downvotes by saying they are not 'authentic engagement'.
Let the video play in the background most of the way through with the browser tab muted before you downvote.
I figured out what they are doing, there is a reason the video is unlisted! There is a known glitch when you unlist your video, you can use an auto-clicker to spam like/dislike really fast and it glitches the YouTube system into giving you NEGATIVE DISLIKES, which remove dislikes.
Wasn't there someone tracking this? A week or two ago someone posted a website monitoring all the deleted downvotes...

They're doing it slowly. It'll be even soon, then positive ratio eventually. Or they'll just lose the thumbs down all together.
