You're still paying for it with your taxes. If anything, I imagine schools welcome a smaller student body. They're never held accountable for their budgets so that just means more money for them.

Schools get money per seat, so they fight tooth and nail for each student. It is completely a hit to their bottom line to remove your students from the system.
