Hopium?

Their cities burning is hopium. Every little dead black girl is hopium. Hope is belief things are going to get better and it will only get better if they learn, they won't learn otherwise so, yeah, either we go guns blazing and take the whole world by force in a pointless attempt to guide the masses... Or we let them suffer direly the consequences of their actions as a lesson.
