I live here. IN the actual city, not the suburbs and NOT Lincoln Park, Gold Coast, etc. Its beyond understanding as to how bad it actually is. People, maybe, just maybe, might here Bout the murders that happen here. However, this a whole host of violence and criminality that happens literally ALL THE TIME here that never gets out in the media.
Rape. Theft. Senseless assaults. Home invasions. Open air drug markets. Riding motorcycles on the sidewalk. Murders that would dumbfound you. Let alone the corruption, sex trafficking, and organized crime. Ride share drivers assaulted continually. It's simply amazing how much crime there is here. Let alone the immorality and sin. (Ever seen a 4 mattress, open air, crack-whore "hangout den" located behind a US Post Office that is only capable of delivering mail once every 10 days?)
Been praying daily in Jesus' name for 8 years that He would let us leave. That prayer goes unanswered and in fact He tells me He has us right where He wants us regularly. It's a brutally tough decision to remain faithful to the Lord on this. Being a disciple is tough sometimes. I'll take all the prayers of anyone who sees this for my family and I to be allowed to leave.
