Yeah. Way back when I had to explain to an employee that the reason he was so broke all the time was because he ate a $15 sandwich EVERY shift and multiple sugar(coffee) drinks a day. He was flabbergasted to hear he spent more on lunch and coffee that year than his car was worth.
It's mind boggling how you have to break it down for some people.
Food delivery services add an extra $5 to each meal at minimum. So if a person does that, they spend an easy $20 on a $15 meal they could have made for $5. And then complain they're so broke. Go buy a loaf of bread and some lunch meat ffs.
I'm not going to knock home cooking or the money that can be saved, but like as an example I love hamburgers and some places like sonic make very good double cheese burgers for a good price, and doesn't require spending time doing prep or cooking.
When I make homemade burgers I probably don't save that much, and spend time shaping the patties, cutting the toppings, starting up the charcoal grill.
That’s when you learn how to cook larger amounts then freeze them for a later date. With that said, it’s ok to treat yourself to something out once or twice a month as long as you are able to pay your bills and shit.
I use either a pound (or two) of turkey meat, 1 cup of onion, 2 cups celery, 2 cups carrots, use garlic powder instead because the fiancée hates messing with garlic cloves (season to taste with this guy), 28oz cans of no salt added diced tomatoes and tomato sauce, two types of beans (usually use reduced or no salt black bean + pinto beans, but any will do- those kidney would work and maybe great white northern would probably be good), double up on the corn and green beans it asks for, double up on the water, no boullion or cabbage because fiancée doesn’t like them, use pound of pasta that you love. Use whatever ratio of seasonings that you love to season to taste.
It’s super thick so it’s more of a stew than a soup but holy effffff it’s tasty.
It’s why subscription services are booming in recent years. Corporations figured it’s easier to part idiots with their money if they take a little bit at a time than a larger amount up front.
Those delivery services sometimes add way more than $5 too. They like to be devious about it, they show you the "service charges" up front, but what most people don't notice is that they also make clone copies of a restaurant's website menu that they display on their own app/website, and adjust the price of everything on it.
On top of those service fees, you're gonna end up paying an extra 20% (or more) per item you order too.
These retards. I know some women who live with their parents and don't pay rent, get full time work at $15 an hour to just sit, and they have nothing saved. They buy expensive food with delivery, spend $10 at Starbucks every day, wear a lot of makeup, wear fake eyelashes and nails, buy expensive clothes, and get the latest phones with the maxed out plan. I also worked with a commie who half assed all his work and complained that he should get free healthcare and more money. He was getting paid over $14 an hour, lived with his parents and didn't pay rent, and spent his two weeks' paycheck on an expensive Apple product every time.
I had this problem when I worked retail. Nobody had to tell me why I was broke, being a capitalist I knew it was because I was buying junk and energy drink at work every day. Still, hard habit to quit when you are surrounded by the stuff and have poor impulse control when it comes to snacks.
I feel you. While I'm still in shape the sugar products prey on our natural food impulses. Hard to deal with.
I listen to Universal Man on youtube (he's semi low-key about being a conservative). He deals with porn addictions which is supprisingly similar to the way they pray onour natural food impulses.
Exactly why I gave up energy drinks and make my own hot Breakfast Tea in the mornings to get me caffeinated. Costs pennies, health benefits (maybe?), and no fake or real sugar. Coffee too, depends on my mood.
Used to drive to Starfucks daily. When they became cuckland stopped that and make ice coffee at home now, saves a ton of money. Now I just waste it on other shit ;P Food on the otherhand ehh yea still bad there since I hate most leftovers.

I can make a gallon of veggie soup that’s better than any processed crap for about the same cost as like one serving of name brand stuff.
I can make an entire dinner that’s delicious and gives leftovers for the price of a fast food meal.
People are reatrded and fools are easily parted with their money.

Plastic packaging is the worst. Microplastics damage your capillaries and can change your genetics.
I want a gallon of veggie soup. Hook me up with the details bro.
It may not actually be a gallon, haha. I start off with this as a base- it’s basicaly doubled up but with a good number of substitutions:

It sneaks up on you. I was shocked as shit when I realized how much I was spending on convenience food at the work lunchroom.

Getting food delivery from an eat-in dining place is doubly bad too as part of the price is the eat-in experience.
