I'm not going to knock home cooking or the money that can be saved, but like as an example I love hamburgers and some places like sonic make very good double cheese burgers for a good price, and doesn't require spending time doing prep or cooking.

When I make homemade burgers I probably don't save that much, and spend time shaping the patties, cutting the toppings, starting up the charcoal grill.

That’s when you learn how to cook larger amounts then freeze them for a later date. With that said, it’s ok to treat yourself to something out once or twice a month as long as you are able to pay your bills and shit.

Freeze grilled hamburger patties and reheat later? Now we are talking about a serious dip in quality.

But the amount made is why I don't think I'm saving much money on that meal. Generally I have to invite a couple friends over when I make burgers because I ain't going to eat 6 burgers by myself, and reheated burgers don't taste very good. So while burger to burger it is probably a bit cheaper, I'm giving 4 of them away for free.
