Look: according to the best know estimates by the United Nations, by 2070 if we don’t tackle climate change, the economy will be 5% smaller, but hey they’ve gone with the “people will die line”, so yeah, end of the world coming. They need to justify Biden’s green stuff which I guarantee with be a whole lot of subsidies, taxes, and bailouts to climate-aligned corporate interests.

I've been alive for 38 years and I've been told the point of no return is 10 years away for the last 40 years.

There will be no grand climate catastrophe. Last year here in Australia we had the worst bushfires we've had in 20 years and all the hippies were screaming climate change! This year was the mildest bush fire season we've had in the last 20 years and those same hippies have nothing to say.

The reason last year's bushfires were so bad? Land management, leaf litter build up caused huge bushfires, why? The Liberal government cut funding to the forestry department. They had 33 land management officers in 2015 and 10 by 2019.

So why were this years bushfires to mild? All the leaf litter was burnt off last year, so there was no fule for bushfires to spread on.

Climate change is a convenient excuse to hand all our manufacturing power to China so we can say "were doing our part" but all were doing is outsourcing our industries to countries that have no environmental standards.

I'm all for protecting our environment but climate change is bullshit.

Dead nuts accurate for California and their miserable failures to manage their forests that have led to bigass fire seasons as well. 100% agree with your final statement as well.

It is undeniable that the earth has warmed by 1 degree over the last 100 years based on measurements. The question whether we had anything to do with that, whether we had control of that, whether we can do anything about that, and should we do anything about that, are the real complex questions.

I personally urge towards saying that there is an element of human involvement, but comparably to other forms, it is small, almost negligible. We can barely do anything about it and doing something about it would no doubt cause more disaster than if we did nothing about it. At least in a pure economics sense.

It's irrelevant what we do because the chinese and indians outnumber us 10:1 and they don't give a frenchman's fuck about it.
