First, Revelations 13:7: "And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations."
Second, Revelations 12:12: "Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down to you, having great wrath, because he knowth that he hath but a short time.
For each individual it is different. Collectively? Maybe the founding of America? Lots of different things I guess, Isreal becoming a nation. For different peoples it would be differing events. Revelation was written for it's time with symbols they understood at that time. I believe it holds true in all generations though for all people.
if that were so, that would mean death and hell have already been defeated and cast into the lake of fire, but death seems to still be very prevalent in the world.
you think revelation was a reference to events like the founding of america?
No, just a new heaven and earth......referring to administration and layout. Who's in charge and the law they stand on, and how that translates into society
from what I can see, we've had the same administrators from the beginning. also Christ said not 1 word would pass from the law until all things were complete. do you think Christ was just setting the stage for a new prophet/age or something?
Yes, heaven and earth changed after the resurrection. I believe the whole book has been accomplished. We are now in an age where Christ reigns in those who have been risen with Jesus Christ, the kingdom of heaven is inside of us, and we express it or bring it into this world through faith, word, and dead. We're not waiting for anything.
This guy teaches Revelation from the perspective that I was speaking of.
