I think something people forget is that teacher's really don't have any transparency. They're in a class with a bunch of kids and can do as they like with very little oversight.
To make it worse kids are quite bad at realising when the teacher is saying something wrong or manipulating them like an adult would. They're certainly very rarely equipped to articulate to parents what really goes on in the classroom.
