Directly linking to their trash heaps is arguably just as bad.
The best thing to do is to use archive.org.
Not only do you not give them a single click, you also make sure to have a (for now) permanent record in case they edit, remove or block access.

This should really be used more, not just for garbage news sites but also twitter and the like.

Good point. I happen to use ad blockers so I'm just wasting Vice's bandwidth when I visit, but not everyone has that configured so archives are good.

Useing an add blocker when you go to pages of companies you don't like doesn't effect that companies bottom line. They get add revenue based on the pages traffic, not weather or not you watched or looked at an add. If yoh use an add blocker they will still see that you went to the site and assume you saw the adds, and still get paid for your traffic.

The only thing that using the blocker does is keep you from being annoyed of yoh are annoyed by adds.

That depends on how the ad blocker works. My setup doesn't even load the ad (or its javascript), so they won't get an ad impression on their hit counters. The ad's JS won't trigger and there won't be a network request to the ad server.

But that's good to keep in mind.

Ad companies factor in percentages of people who use ad blockers into their strategy. So, using ad block isn’t completely useless, it’s more like pissing slightly into the wind.

There is actually an add-on for Firefox (I use WaterFox) that does this for you with just a click. It's called Archive Page. It is also available for Chromium forks.

Question remains. Why are you still using woke piece o shit Firefox?

I’m not. I’m using WaterFox. It’s a fork. What browser do you use? What kind of phone and computer do you use? What internet service do you have? Where do you pump gas? If you wanna go there we can go there. Fuck outta here with that nonsense.

Wow. Hit a nerve there. Here let me fix it. "Questions now is. Why do you keep pimping out Firefox?"
