Useing an add blocker when you go to pages of companies you don't like doesn't effect that companies bottom line. They get add revenue based on the pages traffic, not weather or not you watched or looked at an add. If yoh use an add blocker they will still see that you went to the site and assume you saw the adds, and still get paid for your traffic.
The only thing that using the blocker does is keep you from being annoyed of yoh are annoyed by adds.
That depends on how the ad blocker works. My setup doesn't even load the ad (or its javascript), so they won't get an ad impression on their hit counters. The ad's JS won't trigger and there won't be a network request to the ad server.
Ad companies factor in percentages of people who use ad blockers into their strategy. So, using ad block isn’t completely useless, it’s more like pissing slightly into the wind.
