Lying American journalists helped the Khmer Rouge by propping up their image as they actually killed American soldiers. Lying American journalists covered up the atrocities by drawing attention away from Pol Pot's Killing Fields. Even decades later, lying American journalists tried to help Presidential Candidate John Kerry continue the US BAD / COMMUNISTS GOOD trope. Kerry claimed that he was on a Swift Boat actually in Cambodian waters when the voice of President Nixon's Christmas Eve radio address denying combat involvement in Cambodia, was seared into his brain.

Ask an older Pede why journalists repeating that particular lie of Kerry's was ridiculous.
