No. Those are not the same thing. In the video, the man catches the punch mid flight by the forearm. This is a staged video. You're not going to pull that off in any real world scenario. In the world world, this scenario ends the man taking a fist to the face.

No, they are not. By the loosest definitions of the English language. This isn't even a redirect, a type of block that slightly turns an attackers blow to avoid you. He straight up catches the man's forearm in mid air.

You won't slow it down. You won't stop it. If you attempt to catch a punch in mid air, you're going to take that fist to the face and end up on LiveLeak martial arts fails.
