Jurors probably feel the weight of the riots and a year of people showing up to homes.

Considering that riots are already happening maybe they should realize their ruling wont change anything.

They don't all have to be. Just one or two.

It'll absolutely change wether or not their houses are purposely targeted. Witnesses might get a talking to also.

The current riots are timed to intimidate the jurors psychologically

The good thing about our jury selection is that both the prosecution and the defense get to bounce a number of potential jurors from being on the panel. Hopefully, the defense got a few solid jurors on there who will do their jobs without political concerns or prejudice of any kind. Those folks are out there, it's just a matter of identifying them among a jury pool.

Given the possibility of the jury voting to convict on ground of fear or determination to convict regardless of evidence, even a hung jury might be a comparative win.
