Cousin was a cop. On one of his calls, a dude killed himself by putting a shotgun in his mouth. He blew the front of his face off, and the front part of his brain. It took about 20 more minutes to die. He was gurgling on blood, etc. My cousin wanted to put 2 rounds into the dudes chest but couldn't. Perhaps this paramedic witnessed something similar.
Could be. Had a relative (by marriage) attempt suicide by shooting himself in the head with a rifle.
Said relative was most likely drunk during the process. And he had used his toe to pull the trigger.
End result was a sizable centered vertical forehead furrow. Kinda looked like a finger run through frosting or spackling paste. The bullet traveled across the skull for a bit but no real bone damage.
