I live in the medical dystopia of NY, and I gotta get the fuck out of here. I've overheard people talking about how it's like "a completely different world down there" and how "people look at you like you're the crazy one for wearing a mask." I want this shit so badly. All I want in the fucking world is to get away from the covid hysteria. If there is anybody from Florida seeing this, can you confirm this or tell me which areas of Florida are the least awful? I can't take NY anymore.

Things are pretty normal here! Most stores have signs about masks and many wear them but no one enforces it. Restaurants are full capacity. No one in my office is getting the vaccine. No signs of COVID hysteria here in the sunshine state!

I think what is different here is, it is not a big deal. No one is forcing us to wear masks in public spaces. If a private business (ie, chain stores - local stores are not as concerned) wants us to wear a mask then it is our choice to shop there or not.

So, you won't see people wearing masks in their cars, or walking through a parking lot, sitting on the beach, or playing in a park. But you WILL see people pull a mask out of their pocket and put it on before going into Costco. We're also giving people more personal space than we did before the pandemic. It's just the considerate thing to do.

EVERYONE is moving to Florida. The traffic in my area is twice what it was before the pandemic. While a lot of people are still making use of home delivery services, stores and restaurants are extremely crowded. They're building houses and condos fast and they're selling even faster. Doctors, dentists, hairdressers, veterinarians, etc aren't accepting new patients or they are booking appointments 6 months out. It will take some time for the infrastructure to catch up with the population increase. But more Pedes are ALWAYS welcome!

It depends where in Florida you are. I work at a left leaning institute and they at every opportunity promote experimental vaccines.

Its like that in midwest.. Stores still have to use mask signs. Clerks dont wear them unless you where one its kinda funny. Walmart and hospitals are the only places people always wear them

Indeed, it's been up to the Counties across the Midwest, just stay away from Big Cities and go to the Restaurant in Peace.

I have some Floridian friends. They say it varies from place to place. Some businesses will ask you to wear a mask and some won't. Uber drivers will ask you to wear a mask. But largely people do what feels right for them, whether it's a mask or not. They have - dare I say it - freedom.

Florida has a lot of rain right now, its very humid/hot, hurricane season in the summer.

It's a much nicer place to live tho. New York is gross.

Most people wear masks in Florida, but you won't get beat up if you don't like in New York.

You can go to a bar without having to eat dinner.

Stores don't look weird with plastic dividers and security enforcing rules.
