Can someone recommend a good Bible (publisher/edition/translation)? I grew up without any exposure to it. Looking for something at least somewhat scholarly and accurate (translation-wise) but hopefully still readable. Happy to search out older printings as we.

If you are new to the Bible I recommend getting an annotated Bible of whichever translation you use. Being Catholic I would suggest getting a Catholic annotated Bible. The Bible is a complexly hyperlinked library of books, so it's hard to understand without guidance.
