Lincoln was shot on Good Friday of that year. In the previous month he kept telling his friends & staff that he was convinced he didn't have much longer to live. His friends were very disturbed by that. Turns out he was right. So... he gave his life to set men free & was murdered on Good Friday. Did you know that some Blacks in the South called Lincoln the Messiah? They did. He sure died like one.
