Ukraine had an agreement for Russia to use Crimea as a military base. They always had troops there.
It was so crazy just seeing the blatant lies, and the media spin, and the idiotic crowds online cheering it on.
Of course, that is all very familiar now, but it was shocking to me at the time.
I'm not Russian, or Ukrainian, have never visited either place or have any interest there. I was just in awe at the propaganda and deceit around the whole thing.
For all the democrats tough talk on Russia today, always remember that this whole Ukraine debacle was allowed to occur under Obama.
