I'll be honest, I didn't learn a lot about the complexities of Nazism/Fascism until a military history class with a based professor at a fairly conservative "Christian-lite" school (it wasn't a religious school, but conservative Christian values were largely upheld by a large portion of the faculty/staff). It's during that same class that I learned an interesting little fact about why the Nazis used gas the further East they pushed. It's for the same reason that gas would be economical now, bullets are expensive.
